Doris A. Story, 76, of St. Louis, Missouri, formerly of Cedar Rapids died Friday January 27, 2012 at Mid America Transplant Services in St. Louis after a short illness. Services at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after 10 AM on Tuesday.
Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband Rex, three daughters; Debra Hovis of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Jo Cavel of Omaha, Nebraska and Susan Henke of St. Peters, Missouri. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Doris was born on June 20, 1935 in Estherville, the daughter of Henry and Bertha Harford Porter. She married Rex B.H. Story Jr. on May 31, 1953 in Marion. Doris was an auditor at St. John’s Bank for many years, retiring in 1994. She and Rex were both members of the American Philatelic Society and the American and St. Louis Numismatic Association. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and especially time spent with her beloved family and many friends.
