Memorial

Amie R. Womachka, 64, of Cedar Rapids died Wednesday January 25, 2012 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy after a brief illness. Funeral Mass: 10:00 AM on Monday at St. Puis X Catholic Church. Rev. David Ambrosy will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday where there will be a vigil service at 2:00 PM. Friends may also call at the Church after 9:00 AM on Monday.

Survivors include her husband Paul, a son Brian (Melanie) of West Liberty and a daughter Janet of Albany, New York, two sisters Aleta (Glenn) Futrell, and Arlene Edwards; four brothers, Leeon Baldwin, Gary (Helen) Baldwin Larry Baldwin and Dale (Mari) Baldwin, She is also survived by six grandsons, Quinn, Eden, Pere, Flynn, Rowan, Tucker; three granddaughters Holly, Bridgette and Ella as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Paul, two brothers Arnold and Alan, step-brother Ronald; and three sisters Jane, Beth and Ada.

Amie was born on June 27, 1947 in Manchester the daughter of Leeon and Margaret Taylor Baldwin. She graduated from West Delaware High School in 1965. Amie married Paul L. Womachka on January 29, 1966 in Manchester. She was a receptionist and secretary for the Crawford, Sullivan, Reed, and Roemerman Law Firm for several years.

Amie was a faithful member of St. Pius X Catholic Church where she was active in the choir and Church Board. She was inducted into the Kennedy Fine Arts Hall of Fame for her contributions in creating parent organizations. She volunteered with several organizations including the Cub Scouts and the Camp Fire Girls. Amie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Mercy in Amie’s name.
