Betty Lou Herb, 68, of Marion, went home to her Savior on Saturday January 14, 2012. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew Catholic Church by the Rev. David Beckman. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home where a vigil will begin at 4:00 p.m.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond K. (Gail) Herb of Marion and Duayne F. (Shelli) Herb of Cedar Rapids, a sister, Doris M. Allen of Cedar Rapids and a brother, Earl (Edith) Anderson of Alburnett, her grandchildren; Brandon J. Herb of Marion, Gordon K. Herb of Cedar Rapids, Elizabeth C. Herb of Marion, Katrina Shawe of St. Louis, Missouri, Kelley D. Elliot, Tanner E. Elliott, and Keahna Kay Elliott all of Cedar Rapids, 3 great grandchildren and her beloved dog, Lady.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Danny Keith Herb, and siblings; Norbert Anderson, Donnie Anderson, Clara Mae Anderson and Nancy Ann Anderson.

Betty was born June 6, 1943 in Cresco, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Elanora (Boehmer) Anderson. She married Danny Keith Herb on July 30, 1960 in Cedar Rapids. Betty worked in housekeeping for Cottage Grove Place and attended St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. She loved to play bingo, cards, and go to the races. Betty’s family was very important to her and loved spending time with them. She also loved to travel, among her favorites were Disney World and Tennessee. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
