Robert Roy Anderson, 77, of Cedar Rapids, made his transition to Heaven on January 7, 2012. Private graveside services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at Pecatonica Cemetery in Pecatonica, IL. Local arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Surviving are his children, Lynette Petersen and husband Brian of North Liberty, Dervan Anderson and wife Patricia of St. Peters, MO and Kristin Thompson and husband Steven of Naperville, IL; and his grandchildren, Erik Thompson, Rachel Anderson, Nathanial Petersen, Connor Thompson, Andrew Thompson, Mikaela Thompson, Leah Anderson and Danielle Petersen.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bob was born July 5, 1934 in Pecatonica, Illinois the son of Roy A. and Nora B. (Ihne) Anderson. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy as a Radar Operator. He graduated with a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois. He married Sandra Ann Caywood on January 31, 1960 were later divorced and she preceded him in death on January 4, 1998. He worked as an Electrical Engineer at Rockwell Collins from 1960 to 1991. Bob enjoyed photography, bowling, the Chicago Bears, all types of electronics and jet aircraft. Above all, his greatest enjoyment was his 8 beloved grandchildren.

Memorial donations in Bob’s honor may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
