David Thomas Kluck, 70, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, January 06, 2012 at the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.

Tom was born March 21, 1941 in Dubuque to Harry and Ruth (Fuller) Kluck. He was a graduate of Washington High School and married Donna Kay Griswold on June 2, 1961 in Cedar Rapids. Tom was a salesman for Baker Paper for 28 years, retiring in 2003. He was an avid golfer in his young adult life, loved his God, sports, family, and church.

Tom was a very compassionate and caring man, with a great sense of humor, and was loved and admired by everyone who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Donna (Griswold) Kluck; children, Christopher (Angie) Kluck of Wilmington, NC, Elizabeth “Lisa” Kluck of Cedar Rapids, and Michelle (Nancy) Roberts of San Francisco, CA; grandchildren, Stephanie (Bobby) Kluck of Raleigh, NC, Tyler Thomas Kluck of Fayetteville, NC, Katie Sue (Jake) Kluck of Cedar Rapids, and Luciano Tomas Vitale of San Francisco, CA; brother, Lloyd Kluck of Hartford, WI; sisters, Carole (Redge) Henline of Ft. Worth, TX and Joan Weldon of Cedar Rapids; and his caregivers Phyllis and Bill Hodina. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Pat Nedrow, a brother, Jim Kluck, granddaughter, Susanna Mae Roberts, and special niece, Alicia Nedrow.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Catholic Church by the Rev. David O’Connor. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A vigil service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m., and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ronald Reider and the staff at Linn Community Care, Mercy Medical Center, and the Hospice House of Mercy for their compassionate and loving care.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, the Iowa Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and All Saints Catholic Church.
