Steven Vincent, 49, of Cedar Rapids died on Friday, January 6, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hiawatha. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday evening at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.

Steve is survived by his three sons, Quinn, Samuel, and Connor Vincent all of Cedar Rapids; former wife Sue Vincent of Cedar Rapids; 1 brother Thomas (Georgia) Vincent of Perry, Iowa, and a sister, Karen (Craig) Kaalberg of Davenport, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Marcus.

Steve Vincent was born June 28, 1962 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of John and Shirley (Schwaigert) Vincent and was raised near Wellman, Iowa. He was a 1980 graduate of Mid-Prairie High School & graduated from Coe College in 1984. He spent most of his career in sales, primarily in the transportation industry.

Steve was a referee for the Iowa High School Athletic Association. He was a coach for many sports including basketball, football, and baseball. Steve not only was a great coach to student athletes, he also coached his own three sons. His love for teaching all aspects of sports to up and coming athletes was a true passion of Steve’s, but nothing could replace his most valuable players…his three sons. Steve will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
