Lavon E. Flugga, 87, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at Methwick on Friday, January 6, 2012. A private family inurnment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery on January 17th. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Lavon was born on June 19, 1924, in Clarksville, Iowa, the daughter of George and Pauline (Wedeking) Frerichs. Lavon married John Flugga on September 10, 1944, in Des Moines. He died in 2006.

She is survived by two daughters; Kim (Brad) Flugga-Ciha of Cedar Rapids and Sandy Dixon of Las Vegas, NV, grandchildren Joshua (Faye) Dixon of St. Louis, MO and Zachary Dixon of Las Vegas, NV, great-granddaughter Tess of St. Louis, MO, sibblings Marva Crow (Tulsa, OK), Norma Sulentic (Waterloo), Joyce Fennemen (Clarksville), and Darrell Frerichs (Loveville, MD) and sister-in-law Gloria Frerichs (Elkrun Heights).

Lavon was preceded in death by her parents, sister Gladys DeGroote and brother August Frerichs.

Lavon was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
