Ed was a great friend to my brother Al. I knew and respected him as a young man growing up in the Sacramento area--he was a stalwart christian model for me. My wife and I had the privilege of meeting his daughter Christi on the COG7 Anniv. Cruise. May God be close and support your family during this time. Joy will come in the morning! My sympathy to you for such a great loss. Know that with prayer, God can comfort, bless and give you the peace and rest you need for your dedicated and faithful service of doing all you could do to help Ed. Letting go and placing yourself in God's hands, Ed will now be at rest in Christ until Christ's return. With a sincere understanding of your loss and a shared anticipation of looking forward to Christ's return, may God be with you in these trying and end times.

I will miss Ed's sense of humor, his laugh, his quiet methodical way of completing projects, the many card games and his cheerful willingness to help me and others. He deserves a good rest but, we will dearly miss him until we meet again in God's Kingdom. Willigene, Christy, Kurt and family--you are all in my thoughts and prayers daily. I will not be able to attend the service but, I will be there in spirit. May God comfort you during this difficult time. Love you all!

A 55 plus year friendship ended last week, but the memories are sweet and will live on until that day when we join Ed on the other side--as Ed and I promised each other a few weeks ago during our last phone conversation, when I expressed my regret of not being able to visit in person. Our friendship began in Lodi, Ca. in the mid 50's and continued in Sacramento as we shared a walk-down apt. with Gil Kauer. We did all of the dumb, fun stuff that young men, whose brains are still developing, do--fishing, camping, or just burning up fuel running around town. Oh, there might be some stuff that will never be told, but nothing bad. I, like many of you, are remembering the good times spent with Ed. Lou and I were honored to have had Ed in our wedding party. Over the years we shared a few visits and phone conversations. Both of us had gone through some similar health issues. More recently, we had a great visit at Spring Vale's gradution in '09. We recognize and give thanks for the caretakers, Willegene and family. They have been so faithful to Ed's needs. May God reward them with some well deserved rest. Enough said. Ed, you will be missed.
