Dorothy I. Harman, 90, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Manor Care. Services: 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel by Chaplain Phil Saunders. Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Survivors include her son, Richard; nephew, Harold (Linda) Bruce; and niece, Joyce Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Clarence; sisters, Violet, Evelyn, and Jenny; and brothers, Roger and Alford.

Dorothy was born May 15, 1919 in Mt. Auburn to George and Florence (Welton) Lane. They moved to LaPorte City and later to Cedar Rapids. She attended Roosevelt High School. She married Clarence Harman on June 19, 1943 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1968. Dorothy worked at Souvenir Pen and Pencil Company and later worked at Collins Radio Company during WWII. She took a year off after the birth of her son and then returned, working for 30 more years and then retiring. She was a past member of the IBEW #1362.
