Myrtle Irene Westcott Sedlacek Licht
I am so sorry to hear of Myrtle's passing. We so enjoyed her visit at the Mount Vernon Alumni Association's July 2009 Heritage Days breakfast, where the only thing that quieted the crowd of 500 people were Myrtle's humorous remarks after she was introduced as our Association's oldest alum. We will miss her at the next breakfast.

I have many fond memories of "Babe" since she was my Step-Mother's (Lyda "Goody" Goodyear Leoni) best friend from childhood and more like an aunt then just a friend. How I wish I could have visited with her for another game of double solitare and talk about her many well loved cats. she was always caring and helpful to me and my family. she will be fondly remembered.

Myrtle will always be a part of my childhood growing up in Cedar Rapids. I don't remember ever seeing her without a smile on her face and a twinkle in her eye. My Gammy (Lyda Goodyear Leoni) always seem happier when they were together. Myrtle just seemed like another member of the family and years later when I learned she was Gammy's best friend growing up she still seemed like part of the family. She is an example of a life lived well that will be well remembered.
