Dear Rollin---Ozzy---and Mark, Peter, Deb, and Becka (and spouses and families), What a privilege it was to have known your mother! What wonderful woman! Kind, caring, industrious, highly intelligent, and yet still full of fun! Do you remember how she and Mae used to chat and laugh and laugh?! We are so sorry for your great loss! No doubt it will be difficult for you to cope with the void that her loss created in the coming months. I can't help but feel that her life helped to inoculate me against evil and sadness because whenever I saw her she was always so joyful! All of us "Chancellors" are so very grateful that Loraine included us in the love that she felt for you and all her dear family and for her presence in our lives! What a remarkable gift she was to all of us! She was such a blessing to Mae and Bob! Please accept our sincere condolences.

I have been out of town and just learned of Loraine's passing. I am so sorry. She was a dear lady and I know she will be missed. When we worked together, she shared how proud she was of her children and grandchildren. She always wanted the best for everyone and was always willing to help out. My prayers are with you and your family at this time. She will be so missed.

Rev. Oswald and Tom, I was just looking up St. James Methodist Church on the internet as I will be visiting Cedar Rapids in early April and Lorraine's name came up. I remebered her and recognized her photo immediately. My sympathy to you both and to your entire family. My mom and dad were Marion and Margaret Allen. Dad and Tom Sr.worked on St. James together and after Tom died, dad missed him for the rest of his life. Mom passed away in March of 2006 and Dad just last May. At Dad's service we had a board of photos which included a photo of my family with Tom and Mabel on a breakfast picnic at Ellis Park which I was about 12 years old. I am sure they were present with Tom, Mabel and Patty to welcome Lorraine into Heaven and they are all "cathing up" over coffee and a piece of rhubarb pie.aid.
