Kathy, girls and all the family. No words can express how things are for you now. We can only say you are in our thoughts and prayers. Memories are wonderful, keep them strong. We remember when you became "neighbors". Many good memories chatting back and forth. Daren always brought someone to look at the tractors. 4th of July will always be in our minds, I wish we had to go bail him out now. He always had that smile and funny laugh. You have so many friends that are sharing your loss, be assured of that. He will be missed by so many. You know we are just up the hill and here if you need us. Luv you. Steve and Pat

To the Klosterman's, I will certainly have a few words to say about Daren at the services as he left an indelible mark in my life. To say he lived life to the fulliest seems almost mundane in the way he pursued life and especially fun! He worked hard and he played harder. When I first took him out of Cedar Rapids with me, he left his mark in every town he worked in, now some 17 years ago. Daren was a man you wanted to have on your side whether at work, at play or in a Bar. If he had nine lives as a cat does, Daren got the most out of each of them. One could say that he lived a full life in his 47 years but it's so sad that he won't be walking his 2 gorgeous daughters down the isle or playing with his grandchildren. Whether it be heaven or hell, I hope they're ready for him because he's gonna be pissed when he gets there and if you'd ever seen his eyes when he was made then you'll know what I mean? To a fallen rider and a very good friend.Good bye Daren. -Mark Erickson

Words cannot express the sadness of loosing someone you love so much...As you know we lost our Granddaughter 6 weeks ago. Our lives were forever changed that day. As your lives will be forever changed...No one can say they understand your pain... Because they simply cannot! We can only say we pray you find some comfort in all the memories Daren blessed you with.He was a great husband father and friend...Remember it's not the number of years in your life its the life you lived in those years that matter! And Daren certainly lived his 46 years to the fullest! R.I.P Daren. Much love-Monte,Kelly,Aubrey&Abbie Rife

Klosterman Family, I haven't seen Daren in years, but I considered him a good friend. I will never forget the wild times Daren, Bill and I had working at the Feed Bag. I worked with DK at the Jackson TN project, and will never forget him. He spoke frequently of his wife and daughters with boastful pride. He came to me when his fathers home flooded, and because of the person he was, even though I had never met his father, I was more than anxious to help in any way that I could. On behalf of myself, my stepsons, Jamie and Trey, Andy Vaughn, Tony Smart and the entire crew, we express our deepest sympathy for your loss and pray that Kathy and the Girls find the strength to endure such a difficult time.

We met Daren when he was working in Jackson,TN at the hospital. He came to be like one of the family. We spent many weekends together at the Tennessee River and we showed him what deep sea fishing was all about in Destin. He turned us on to Brisket and we turned him on to Tomato Gravy and our homemade BBQ sauce. He will be greatly missed! Our hearts go out to Kathy, the girls, "Duce" and the rest of the family. Dear Klostermans, I have not talked to Daren in many years. I think we last spoke in the early eighties because I lived in Illinois. I moved there from C.R in the early 70's with my family. I have thought about him over the years though and it always brought a smile to my face. Thats how I will remember him-just like that!! A gentle giant with a wild streak at times just like me. I wish we had stayed in touch-he would have liked my black on black HD ultra classic. Ride on my brother!! My thoughts and prayers are with you all during these difficult times-if I know Daren he will not be too far away!! Take care and God Bless. Peace, Shawn Oakley

Kathy - I worked side by side with Daren (aka Big D) on a hospital project in Minnesota. I still remember my first run-in with him when he threatended to "stuff me in a garbage can!" That was the beginning of a great working relationship during the day and a friendship after hours. I can be blamed for sparking Daren's interest into snowmobiling, which was quite a change for a man who desires to be basking in the sun on the water! Anyways, I only worked with Daren for eight (8) months or so, however, it was very early on in my career and I like to think he played a hand in making me who I am today. I have much thicker skin, that's for sure. I had not spoken to Daren in a couple years but was still very hurt to hear of his passing. My heart goes out to you and the girls. God bless!

My sincere condolences to Kathy and her Daughters. I never got to know them but I feel as if I did through Daren and I love them as if they were my own family. I worked with Daren in Jackson, TN. for five years. Beside sharing the Fitzgerald name we often ventured together on our bikes, fishing, a bit of traveling, and altogether fun both at work and our spare time. Although I was not able to make the memorial service I will visit in the near future. Daren always made you feel as if he was happy to see you. A tough guy with a heart of gold and a deep respect for his elders. I loved him like a brother and I will miss my friend.
