Ernie was such a good friend to my parents,Helen and Woody White. He and Ruth and family lived across the street from us when he was pastor at Trinity. He officiated at my wedding in 1971. He was such a kind and friendly man..he will be missed by many.

Dear Ruth and Family, So sorry to hear of Ernie's passing. When Marie and I were serving as Chaplain at Meth Wick, was when we really got to know you folks. You were always such a blessing and supportive to our ministry, and the meals we shared together; the moments of sharing our lives in private conversations; and just knowing of your support will long be cherished memories. Ernie was certainly God's Beloved. I think I understood more about Ernie and who he was as a person, in studying his artistic creations. May God bless you Ruth and your family and please know we will keep you in our prayers. Rev. Jack and Marie Kendall

Oh, so many positive recollections--lots of connections over the years. I always liked the fact that you have a daughter named Laura, too. All those years ago when they still had morning conferences at St. Luke's, I remember transcribing dictation of Dr. Gesme's "tumor" conference (now it would be "oncology", I'm sure) for his presenta-tion here (before he and Laura moved to Minn.) I remember when you, Ruth, would do lunches for some of us Trinity UM circle friends. Our family will never forget the very special memorial sermon Ernie presented after Merry died. Merry, like Ernie, was an artist; and, like you, Ruth, was a poet and creative writer. Both my daughter (another Laura)in Canada retired from teaching and Julie (still disabled and in nursing home placement) send their sympathy, too.

Both of you were such good friends to my mother, Charlotte Clark Glynn. I was happy for the opportunity we had to see you last December when we were looking for a place for her. Our hearts go out to you at this difficult time as you adjust to his absence. May God keep you in his embrace.

Ruth & family. I remember a conversation I had one time with both of you about camping. You told me that you and the family enjoyed playing Skip-Bo. So I immediately went out and bought that game and still carry it in the trailer. Ernie will be missed by all who knew him. My sincere condolences. Donella Brady Watkinson

Jim and I want to express our condolences to you and to your family,Ruth. Ernie was such a kind and intelligent man who amazed us with his ability to summarize the comments expressed in any meeting, and respond with tact. He was the personification of the term "gentleman". You both were so kind to my mother when she was trying to redefine herself and her role after my father moved on to the eternal stages of his life. I am forever indebted to you both for befriending her at a difficult time in her life. Our prayer is that God will continue to pour out his blessings on you and your family. Jim and Tobi Branam
