Dearest Pam and Family: We were so saddened to hear of Phillip's passing. I am so sorry to say we did not even know he was ill. At least there is no more pain for him and he is now in the presence of our Lord and Saviour. Rick and I have spoken many times of the wonderful gathering at your home 3 yrs ago - it brought back many memories of spending time there during the summers in CR growing up. I can't tell you how many times Rick has repeated that story Phil shared about the emu; that too will be carried on down in this part of the country! Please know you and your beautiful family are in our prayers and we'll be thinking about you all during this difficult time. Rick and Jackie Harris

Dear Family Phillip was a dear friend and co-worker for some years. He was different to be sure, but he and I hit it off well. He always spoke highly of his family. I pray that you all will celebrate his time with you.

Pam and Family: May your sorrow be eased as only time can do. You've had a wonderful family and that will go forward with hopefully all the pleasant memories that you can recall. Phillip was always a special first cousing to me and we had some great conversations over the years. We much preferred the childhood years, and that wasn't sinility it was just a great life. I always looked forward to see Phil's smile and receive a big hug as only he and cousin Lee can give. We had meaningful walks in the creek that helped me through tuff times. I'm only sorry I couldn't get back to Iowa to help him walk through this crisis. I loved you dearly Phil and remember the times you were in California with me, with a smile. May God shelter you for eternity, I'll be seeing you some day, and be looking for a hug. Take care of each other, family is all we have in these terrible times. To Pam and all the kids, Phil loved all of you and you made him proud even if times were difficult occasionally. Your Cousin Patti Chapman (Knowles)

Pam, and all my sweet cousins, 1st, 2nd and 3rd, too: My heart hurts for you all. Phillip's large presence in that short frame of his will leave quite a painfull void for each of you........to eventually be filled with the sweetness of his spirit which will never diminish and the memories he's left you with to share again and again. I'm there with you all in spirit, as one of the many who knew and loved Phillip. He was my cousin alright, but in many ways he was my brother. Love, Reyne Martin Vaughn, far away in Texas

Jaime, Alicia and all family members - I know Jaime & Alicia because we worked at Collins Plaza Hotel in the late 1990s. Naturally, I met your Mom & Dad at Jaime's wedding. Your many pleasant memories of your Dad and with your Dad will comfort you now and forever. You are no doubt very proud of his achievements, his time in the military, and, most of all, his love for his family. May the Lord especially bless you and your family during this tough time.
