Memorial

Phillip J. Fishell, 62, of 3229 Fishel Rd, Marion, died Thursday, November 12, 2009, in his home. Services with military honors will be held at 2 PM Monday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial in Lafayette Cemetery. Visitation will be at the chapel from noon to service time on Monday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife Pam, their children, Phillip Jr. (Aimee) of Atkins, Iowa, Chad with the US Navy in San Diego, California, Jaime (Tim) Whitehead Center Point, Alicia (Ryan) Porter of Center Point, Jacob (Erin) of Cedar Rapids, Joseph (Michaela) of Cedar Rapids, and Caleb (Natalie) with the US Airforce in Las Vegas, Nevada, two sisters Sara (Merrill) Strand Marion, and Amy (Nick) Caves of Alburnett, brother Russell Fishell Jr. of Cedar Rapids, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Terry and Robert.

Phillip was born February 16, 1947 in Cedar Rapids to Russell and Clarissa Knowles Fishell. He married Pam Cowell on February 16, 1973 in Toddville. He was employed as an electrician for American Profol Inc. He served with the US Navy in Vietnam. He was a member of River of Life Ministries, IBEW Union #51, and Hanford American Legion Post No 5. He enjoyed restoring old cars, remote control model airplanes and cars, fishing, camping, making family videos, and spending time with his family.
