Francis “Frank” Lydic, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday November 9, 2009 in St. Luke’s Hospital. Services: 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Kenwood Park United Methodist Church by the Rev. Laura Smith. Visitation will be today at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Betty L. Lydic, a daughter, Jean A. Fuller (Bruce) of Cedar Rapids, a grandson, Calvin Paul Spinka (Nikki) of Cedar Rapids, a brother, Irvin Berkey (Hazel), a sister Geraldine Berkey both of Windber, PA and sister Lelia Berkey of Pittsburg, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Roy A. Lydic, and grandson, Francis I. Spinka.

Francis was born October 30, 1921 in Johnstown, PA. He married Betty L. Miller there on April 3, 1954. He was a retired instructor for Kirkwood Community College teaching Occupational Therapy Assistance. He was a member of Kenwood Park United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, reading, teaching and attending the Kirkwood Retirees Activities.
