Karen Sue Tetrick, 42, of Marion, died Friday, October 9, 2009 at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Lovely Lane United Methodist Church by the Rev. Karen Young. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held today from 2 to 5 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, Jim; son, Alex at home; her mother Elizabeth Jones of Romney, IN; a brother Carl (Linda) Jones of Tuscaloosa, AL; a sister, Sheri Butler of Waynetown, IN; and brother-in-law, Allen (Tonya) Tetrick of Springdale, AR. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul.

Karen was born on August 12, 1967 in Lafayette, IN to Paul and Elizabeth Jones. She graduated from McCutchen High School in Tippecanoe County, IN in 1985 and then in 1989 at Purdue University with a degree in chemistry where she met her future husband, Jim. They were married on November 7, 1992 in Romney, IN. She was employed by Rockwell Collins Child Development Center since 1995. Karen was a member of Lovely Lane United Methodist Church and was on the Open Door Worship Design Team to develop a contemporary worship service. Karen loved working with children but her biggest love was her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or the Hospice House of Mercy.
