William A. Ransier, 75, of 125 E. Boyson Rd, died Wednesday September 16, 2009 in St. Luke’s Hospital. Services: 9:00 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Troy Wiegart of Blair Ridge Baptist Church. Visitation will be on Friday from 3-8 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanie, his children, David Ransier (Sandy)of Marion, Daryl Ransier (Patricia) of Anamosa, Denise Sotelo of Marion, Doreen Staton (Scott) of Onalaska, Wisconsin, stepchildren, Matt Loy (Barb) of Normal, Illinois, Patti Daley of Wisconsin, George Loy (Donnette) of Iowa City, Jon Loy (Lynda) of Waterloo, foster son, Eddie Zych of Guttenberg, his siblings, Esther Nelson (Bob) of Delhi, Iowa, Dorothy Wilson of Cedar Rapids, Betty LaBarge of Springville, Harold Ransier (Lois) of Cedar Rapids, 22 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

His parents, first wife Lenore Ransier, a sister, Genevieve Merck preceded him in death.

William was born November 7, 1933 in East Linn, Missouri the son of Ora and Ruth Booze Ransier. He married Lenore Stenerson in Marion who died in 1992. He then married Imogene Hartman Loy on April 10, 1993 in Marion. William was employed at Rockwell 1962-1992 and Linn-mar School Transportation from 1964-2006. He was a member of Blair Ridge Baptist Church and served in the Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed Bowling, hunting, golfing, shooting pool and playing cards with friends. William enjoyed helping others. He was a loving, generous and kind person.
