Penny Ann Burroughs, 47, of Marion, died at St. Luke’s Hospital, Friday, September 11, 2009. Memorial Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids by Rev. Elaine Jones. Friends may visit after 1 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.

Penny is survived by daughters, Sara Stambaugh of Hiawatha, Jenny Brimeyer and Grace Burroughs, both of Marion; mother, Judith Turnbull of Cedar Rapids; sister, Robin (Todd) Telfer of Simpsonville, SC; granddaughter, Evelyn Stambaugh-Wullner; nephew, Andrew Telfer; nieces, Jessica and Hannah Telfer; ex-husbands, Richard Burroughs and Richard Brimeyer; and her pets, Max, Buster, and Stanley.

Penny was born on September 28, 1961 in Cedar Rapids to Wayne and Judith Turnbull. She graduated from Jefferson High School. Penny worked for the Cedar Rapids School System at Jackson Elementary. Penny was a fighter and proved courageous throughout her illness as well as thru her whole life. She had a special spot in her heart for her pets and will be remembered for her sense of humor and her outlook on life.
