To my sister and 2nd mom, Suzanne and my dear niece and nephew Pegi and Eric. My heart aches at the loss of Axel. It is such a mixture of sweetness and sadness when I remember all the love and laughter he brought to my life growing up. It seems like yesterday that I was running 2 doors down from my house to visit when I had something to share, or was bored, or just wanted something to eat. It was like my 2nd home and Axel and Suzanne were like second parents. Axel was a role model for what a good husband and father looked like. I remember clearly once when I was about 12 or 13 years old. Suzanne came up the front walk all dressed up in a pretty dress with heels, and Axel, watching from the front steps said to me, "Isn't she beautiful?" I thought, "I hope my husband will say that about me someday". He was always such an unassuming guy, but very positive and funny. I can see him playing Yatzee with my mom in heaven. We will all miss him very much, but I have so many good memories for which to be thankful. My heart and spirit will be with you on Wednesday. I would love to be there, but even though I am not, know that my thoughts and prayer are and will be there. I look forward to seeing you all next summer. George, Nadia, Jenan, and Jumana send their love and prayers. I love you Suz.

Suzie and family, It is hard to come up with the words to express my condolences to a wonderful family I have known most of my life. It saddens me to not be able to be there today as I have to be in Washington D.C. this afternoon. What a nice obituary, it is always nice to see Sheet Metal Workers Local 263 mentioned by a proud family of a good Union person. Our International Charter will be draped in mourning for Axel for the next month and a memorial resolution will be read at the next membership meeting. Best wishes to all of you!
