Betty Ann Krug, 80, of 4773 Dewees Ct, Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, August 6, 2009, in Mercy Medical Center following a long illness. Private services will be held. Rev. Daniel Krueger of Zion Lutheran Church in Hiawatha will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Surviving to honor her memory are her husband of 62 years George, two daughters, Pamm (Richard) Ruhberg of Cedar Rapids, and Sheryl (Dennis) Dunston of Woodland, California, two sons George Krug Jr. her devoted and loving caregiver of Cedar Rapids, and Kevin (Barbara) Krug of Swisher, Iowa, four grandchildren, Chad Ruhberg, Danielle (Kent) Perleberg, Sean Dunston, and Jennifer (Tom) Markt, and her aunt Pearl Lehr of Shellsburg. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and his wife Marvin and Lorraine Knipp, and a grandson Trent Van Lengen.

Betty was born December 9, 1928 in Keystone Iowa to Louis and Lillian Thede Knipp. She married George A. Krug on June 1, 1947 at East Dubuque, Iowa. She was a bookkeeper at Borden’s Dairy and at Krug Carb.

Betty will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial fund has been established in care of Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
