Memorial

Donna M. Mollenhauer, 80, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday morning, July 22, 2009, at her home in Keota, following a short illness. Visitation will be at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday, with funeral services at 1 PM Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery with arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include four daughters, Donna Kinney and husband John of Cedar Rapids, Mary R. Malley and husband Bill of Keota, Dena Mora of Keota, and Tina Bennett and husband Dave of Lancaster, California, four sons, Carey D. Mollenhauer and wife Karen of Marion, Douglas J. Mollenhauer and wife Pam of Ankeny, Iowa, Thomas A. Mollenhauer of Ottumwa, Iowa and Todd M. Mollenhauer of Brandon, a sister Marilyn Jane Gray of Ely, Nevada. Donna has 21 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dean, and an infant brother Bobby.

Donna was born November 21, 1928, in State Center, Iowa, to Alfred John and Mary Rebecca Nelson. She married Dean Melvin Mollenhauer on February 21, 1948 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and raised a family of 8 children, 4 boys, and 4 girls. She was a member of the Iowa State Police Association Auxiliary, and the Twins Club.

Donna unconditionally loved her large family and always looked for the best in everyone. She loved her husband Dean, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with all her heart. She enjoyed visiting with people, a tidy well kept home, shopping on QVC, and playing bingo. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her and whose lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
