Geraldine Mae Bruss
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. (Ps. 116:15) Geri is precious to God, because by the grace of God she put her trust in her Savior, Jesus Christ. Our Savior himself tells us, "But about the resurrection of the dead--have you not read what God said to you, `I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob' ? He is not the God of the dead but of the living." (Mttw 22: 31-32) And so we know Geri is alive with Christ now. We have further assurance of this from 1 Cor. 15: 20-22 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. We will miss Geri here until we see her again in that glorious reunion in heaven with all of God's saints. She and Pastor were like our second parents whenever we visited. We even got to go on one of those famous camping trips! Dear family of Geri, you have our deepest sympathy for your earthly loss of your wife and mother. But we also share in your joy that Geri is safely home with Jesus and free from her suffering and all sorrow!

Wes & family: Wishing you the fullness of God's comfort, peace and hope in Christ our Savior and Lord! We sincerely appreciated the hospitality you and Geri showed us when we came for Jeff's events at Good Shepherd; and wre thankful for the support Geri & you gave to Jeff and Karena while they were in Cedar Rapids. May God give you His strength to bear your loss in the assurance that Geri now has the perfect joy and eternal life with our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ!

Wes and family, We were so blessed to know Geri and will always remember her smile. The last time she was here in Sioux Falls with us she was cheering Ethan on in his soccer game so proudly. When were there visiting, she had to feed us all and enjoyed being such a gracious hostess. Her cheerful and loving spirit is carried on in her children and grandchildren. We are praying that the Lord will give you all peace during this time and the promise that you will see her again someday will sustain you. Regretfully we are unable to be there in person on Saturday, but you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, The Gundersons

I worked with Geri at DHS lots of years ago. I think of her often as she was the most caring person I think I have ever met. She ALWAYS saw the best in people and had such a positive attitude. She worked very hard to instill a positive attitude in me. I want to extend my sympathy to her family. You are in my prayers.

Dear Wesley and Family, I got the honor of knowing Geraldine and Wesley through my job at Park Towne Animal Hospital and their dog, Tango. Geraldine always had such a warm smile and wonderful presents about her. The last year or so was difficult to see her failing health show, but she was always seemed so happy. May God and time heal your broken hearts and may Geraldine rest peacefully now. Take care.

One of my fondest memories of Geri was sharing grandchildren. When Paige was a newborn, we made the trip to SC for her baptism. The two grandmothers took turns holding her, with Geri letting me know by the clock, when my time was up. She was always full of fun and laughter with a heart showing love for everyone she touched. You could see our Saviour in Geri. I hold dear the special time with her on grandparent days. Thinking of you all and wishing you peace. Love, Pat Priebe

I am so sorry to hear of your loss... Though I didn't know Geri very well, she was sure a nice lady from what I remember. I read her obit. and she was such a great person! I remember when dad (Bruce), mom(Diana) and the fam. came to visit years ago. I remember your son was only 14 years old at the time! So, it's been a long time. I remember us having a great time though! You all were such good hosts! We had a good time! I know grandma Arlene (Wietzke)is taking this very hard, as I'm sure you all are too. If there's anything I can do, don't hesitate to call or contact me. Geri is no longer suffering. God rest her soul. Wes-that article you wrote with the Proverbs message was absolutely beautiful! I'm sure Geri is looking down on you and smiling! You have a wonderful family, and we will all see her again someday. My Deepest Sympathy's. Take Care and God Bless, Rebekah (Wietzke) Nelson

To Brenda, Reid, and the entire Bruss clan, our deepest sympathies go out to you during this trying time. Mom (as we knew her from our very first meeting) touched our hearts even though we only knew her for a short time. We feel fortunate to have known her for the brief time that we did. Even though she has left us, we know that she will never be gone from our lives as she makes up so much of the character of our dear friends, Brenda and Reid. Our greatest memories of Mom stem from our first meeting around Christmas '07, when she welcomed us into her family as if we were her children. During a time when we were feeling homesick (living 2500 miles away from home), she took us into her heart and gave us a feeling of family. From that day, I (Becky) learned not to cross her path in the kitchen and never to start a food fight when she was preparing dessert (it had been a long time since I received a scolding quite like that). She always took sincere interest in our lives despite the pain and sickness she was feeling herself. She was a woman of amazing character and spirit. Her strength and energy for life will always be remembered. God bless her and the Bruss family. Our deepest sympathies go out to you in this time of grief. We find solace in the knowledge that she is with her Savior and He will guide you through this time of mourning.

Wendy, words of comfort cannot meet the magnitude of losing your mother. I pray God gives you peace and strength in your time of sadness. I am thinking of you and your family with the deepest sympathy.

We only met Geraldine a couple of times, but her happiness, peace, goodness, and energy were truely unforgetable. Our condolances go out to Pastor and the family.
