Dear family and friends, Thanks so very much for all the phone calls, visits, and sympathy during this most difficult time. We will forever remember all of the good times we had with brother and uncle Bill and the wonderful person Bill was. He was so smart, kind hearted, generous, funny, artistic and he wanted everyone in his life to be happy. He especially loved his only nephew, Steele, and was so very proud of him. One of Bill's hobbies was collecting coins and stamps ever since Bil was a little boy and throughout the past 11 years of Steele's life, he has been saving a vast collection of them for Steele of which we are so appreciative. Bill accomplished many things in life, to include graduating from Ogden High School with stellar grades and where he was very popular. He was actively involved in sports and was very good at them all. Other accomplishments included learning how to farm, completing about 2 years at Iowa State University in the pre-med program, then he began a career with the Chicago Northwestern Railroad (over 10 years) as a track laborer, then a machine operator. His last job there was operating a huge crane, which not just anyone can do. After the railroad, he joined the electricians union and became a Master Electrician. He also completed a course in Home Inspection and became certified at that, etc., etc., etc. Bill was the greatest brother and friend, sweetest Uncle and Brother-in Law to our husband and father, Eric. Eric and Bill had planned to start a remodeling business together in FL., however, Eric died on Dec. 29th, 2007, so we guess God had a better plan for them. We miss them both and they will forever be in our hearts. Bill loved his family and friends and wanted the best for everyone. Those who really knew Bill, know what I am talking about. To all of you that loved him... much appreciation. Always remember how very much Bill loved you. With SO much Gratitude and Love, Gloria and Steele Meyers

To My Dear Brother Bill, I am so fortunate to have had you as my brother. I will never forget your wonderful personality, great sense of humor, and clever jokes and impressions. I know that we have had our ups and downs in our relationship but love was always a stronghold. I will forever cherish the memories of your visit in April and being able to spend time with you during your last remaining days. Even though your life was ever so short you have touched so many lives. You had a heart of gold and everyone one of your friends I met said you always made them smile and laugh. I know that you are gone but not far away. Memories of you will live forever. I am so proud to be your sister. To all my family and friends, I appreciate the many thoughts and prayers you have given. It is comforting to know that so many care. To my dear sister-in-law Stella, I give a special thanks for taking care of and loving Bill for so many years. Without you Bill's life would have been so much shorter. I hope you know that you have my deepest respect and gratitude. To Ed, I thank you for being such a great friend to Bill. Your thoughtfulness and gentle nature makes it easy to know why Bill considered you one of his best. Your help will never be forgotten. Sincerly,
Susan Dicks

I met Bill while he was employed as a Machine Operator in Boone. Bill always had a great sense of humor. He left Boone and I never knew where he went. But from what he told me he liked to move around. He is a good friend and I have fun memories of him fishing and laughing. Respectfully, Chuck

I worked with Bill on the C&NW railroad many years ago. He did have a good sense of humor, nice guy. If you were the foreman or asst. foreman of the gang, he was the kind of guy you would like to have on your gang! God bless the family and comfort you every day. I know he will be missed. Another.... gone too soon.

I loved Bill Marker as his older cousin. He was a sweet little boy who had a rough life. He was so smart he could have done anything he wanted. My heart has a special place for him.

Dear Brother Bill, I miss you SO much. Especially the long early morning chats we used to have that would kick start my day. Rest in Peace. I'm taking it one day at a time and hanging in there knowing you no longer have to suffer anymore. I will always cherish all the good times we've had and even the tough times as we got through them together. You are forever in my heart and I will always be grateful for you in my life.

To Bill's son-in-law, Scott Neff, Much appreciation for you for all you have done for us. Not only did you bring brother and uncle Bill and your Mom, Stella to visit us in Florida and stayed longer on one occasion on our behalf when you could've been working or spending time with your wife, but also for your kindness to us both when you were with us. On his own, Bill would not have been able to make it in his condition and therefore we may not have been able to spend the precious time we had with Bill not knowing that his death would be so soon, afterwards. Also many thanks to you and your wife, Tina, for inviting everyone to your beautiful home in Marion after we left the cemetery. How very kind and generous of you to provide all a place to honor Bill and share our grief. The flowers, food and refreshments were fabulous and everyone seemed to be having a good time. We are forever grateful for you both and your graciousness will never be forgotten nor will the many people who attended. Sincerely,
Gloria and Steele Meyers

I didn't get to know Bill very well, but he was always very nice and polite when I would visit during his time over at Gloria and Steele's house. I pray all who knew and loved him are comforted by the Lord during this time, for He is the only One who can bring peace to our hearts during times like these. I know Gloria was extremely close with her brother and they shared a bond many siblings aren't blessed to have. I ask that everyone keeps praying for the entire family who lost a wonderful brother, uncle, husband and friend. May God bless and keep you all close to His heart.
