Richard C. Taylor, 84, of St. Charles, IL and formerly of 4100 Hickory Hill Lane SE Cedar Rapids died Tuesday July 14, 2009 in Bloomingdale, IL. Graveside services will be held 3 PM Monday July 20, 2009 at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 PM to 3 PM Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Richard is survived by two sons, Scott (Linda) Taylor of Zwingle, IA and Ric (Jody) Taylor of St. Charles, IL and a daughter Laurie (Blair) Bryant of Seattle, WA. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. His wife Pat, a son Gregg, and his parents preceded him in death.

Richard was born January 25, 1925 in Lehigh, IA to Alex and Thelma Taylor. He served in WWII as a B-17 pilot with the 388th Bombardment Group and was stationed in Knettishall England. He was involved in the humanitarian food drops over Holland at the end of the war. He worked as a manufacturing rep and later owned Dick Taylor Sales. He married Patricia Ann Seymour February 6, 1949 in Iowa City.
