Memorial
Raymond E. Leeper, 86, of Toddville, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in St. Luke’s Hospital following a short illness. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 1 PM Monday in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 PM Sunday in Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 63 years Mabel, their children, Raymond (Marjorie) Leeper of Fife, Washington, Diana (John) Kaeser of Cedar Rapids, David (Connie) Leeper of Center Point, and Debra (Terry) Leonard of Toddville, ten grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Gertrude Brady, and Rosalie Pearson, a brother William Leeper, and a granddaughter Lori Leeper.
Raymond was born February 5, 1923 in Montrose, Iowa, to Charles and Adeline Smith Leeper. He married Mabel A. Derr on November 6, 1946 in Charleston, Iowa. He served in the US Army during WW II. He was a building superintendent at Rinderknecht Associates Inc. from 1955 to 1988. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, dancing, and spending time with his family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Military honors provided by VFW Post No 788.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Hospice.
