Dennis L. St. Germain

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire St.Germain family of their loss. My dad and Denny refereed basketball for 20 years together. His son Matt and I tagged along and sat in the stands while they officiated all the time.

I first met Denny when I was a member of the baseball coaching staff at CR LaSalle. I then had the opportunity to work for Denny for a few months. I was deeply saddened by this news. I wanted to convey my sympathies to the family and also to his many friends. Denny was a man of character and always seemed to have some words of wisdom that made sense. His sense of humor made dull tasks fun and he was a great asset to us at LaSalle and also to many other schools and organizations around Eastern Iowa. Sometimes God calls those whose work is done here. I will remember Denny always. God Bless the family as they go through this empty and hollow time. Frank Mason

Dear Pat, Matt, and Dana. Denny and I would work 5 days a week sometimes officiating basketball. At times there would be a men's college game on a Sunday afternoon. I couldn't find another referee partner as much fun as Denny was. As far as work, nobody worked as hard as Denny. Even when he was at working full time at LeFebure and CRST Denny always had jobs on the side. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. Denny will be missed.

We wish to extend our condolences to the family, friends, and employees of Dennis. He was a good man who, in a sense, watched our children grow from across the street. He seemed to enjoy our boys and would stop by for a short visit from time to time. He always had a friendly wave as we passed vehicles. Our sons also loved to watch the parking lot of PACE, in awe of the loaders, forklifts and dump trucks. He was a very hard worker and one of the "good guys". May he rest in peace.

I knew Dennis through the Salvation Army Basketball Program as an opposing coach. Dennis was one of those youth coaches you took notice of. His Praire Hawk girls were a fine team that really enjoyed each other and playing the game. Dennis took a personal interest in all of his players and really loved working with them. There are lots of youth coaches, but only a few of them, like Dennis, are truly exceptional. May God bless and comfort his family and all who loved him.

Our condolences to Pat and all the family. I was out of town and arrived back to the sad news. I couldn't believe it. I knew Denny from Jefferson and than professionally from working together at LeFebure... we were work buddies and some times traveled together. We talked about our children, stocks, sports, etc. I went to several games and watched him ref. We bought our condo in the Ozarks after Denny recommended it. Every time our family goes down to the condo (still doing it only now with grandkids) we mention Denny and wonder how he's doing. We left LeFebure together and parted ways... he to start a new business and me to a new company. Our paths since that time never crossed again. Denny was always a family man first and professional in everything he did. I will miss him, but have my memories of the many good times with him. Gary & Judy Svec

My sympathy to the family of Denny. I heard about his accident just today. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with him on our project at the Commercial Club Park ball field. His help in getting our project done using minimal funds and making the baseball field look great and even giving his input each year will be missed. He was a true worker and a real family man. He could be trusted to help out with all his knowledge. I am saddened by hearing about his accident. My sympathy to all his family and employees --- he never forgot you when he was traveling from town to town always sharing family stories. Deepest thoughts, karen nurre
