Shirley Meyers, 71, of rural Tiffin, IA died Monday morning, July 6, 2009 at Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion, following a brief illness.

Funeral Service: 11 AM on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5 pm to 8 pm at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Shirley Viola Meyers was born in Whitewater, Wisconsin on August 3, 1937 to Thomas and Alice Mirch Armitage. She married Emil Meyers on January 4, 1955 in Iowa City, Iowa. Shirley worked at Farmstead for 27 years and Hawkeye Convenient Store for 18 years.

She is survived by her husband, Emil of Tiffin; children, Loreen (Paul) Boots, Jim Meyers, Dennis (Janice) Meyers all of Cedar Rapids, and Sharon (Larry) Eister of Tiffin; 1 brother, William Armitage of Florida; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Thomas.
