Ruth Ann Burnell, 78, of 2219 C St. SW died Tuesday June 16, 2009 at Manor Care after a long illness. Services at 1:00 PM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Clayton Geoerge will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday.

Survivors include three sons, Edward (Donna) of Cedar Rapids, Kenneth (Dona) of Mt. Auburn and Richard (Michelle) of Oregon; two daughters, Donna Barnes and Ruth Warren both of Cedar Rapids, and one sister Maxcine Spores also of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Judy Morris and a great granddaughter, Sierra.

Ruth was born on January 16, 1931 in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Earl and Hazel Waddington White. She married Donald L. Burnell on July 15, 1946 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1998. Ruth was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, and going to the casino.

A memorial fund has been established in Ruth’s name.
