Memorial

Charlotte M. Roed Glynn, 91, of 2903 F Ave. NW died Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at her home after a brief illness. Services at 11:00 AM on Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Bob Voels will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday.
Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia (Larry) Crock of Bailey’s Harbor, Wisconsin, a son, Mark Clark of Cedar Rapids, a step daughter, Crystal (Robert) Haddad of Freeport, Illinois, sister-in-law, Mary Roed of Mankato, Minnesota, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, two nieces, three nephews and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, a sister, Ione Roed Sampson and a brother, Verland (Dusty) Roed.
Charlotte was born on July 15, 1917 in Alexander, Iowa, the daughter of Jens and Minnie Bohlen Roed. She married Robert Clark in 1946 in Hampton. He died in 1965. She later married Leon Glynn in 1982 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 2005. Charlotte worked at Pennick& Ford and as a secretary at Trinity United Methodist Church for 18 years, retiring in 1981.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and a former member of Mizpak Circle King’s Daughters, The El Kahir Shrine Auxiliary and the National Association of Letter Carriers Auxiliary # 193. Some of her interests were sewing, doing church visitations, reading, walking and traveling. Memorial donations may be given to Trinity United Methodist Church in Charlotte’s name.
The family would like to give a special thanks to St. Lukes Hospice and Brook View Senior Living for the loving care given to Charlotte.
