Jane Toy Stevenson, 86, 100 Thompson Drive, Cedar Rapids, and most recently a resident of Ridgeview Assisted Living, died Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. Services: Private. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7 p.m. where a wake service will begin at 7:00p.m.

Survivors include her children, Judy Hronek (Jim) of Madison, Wisconsin, Linda Hansen of Cedar Rapids and David Stevenson (Jan Mullin) of Swisher, 4 grandchildren, Beth Holznagel (Gary), Bob Hronek (Kathy), Scott Hansen and Brian Hansen, 4 great grandchildren, Katelyn Hronek, Jake Hronek, Austin Holznagel and Aubrey Holznagel.

She was preceded in death by her husband John, sister, Joyce Kulling and brother, Jimmy Toy.

Jane was born August 17, 1922 in Rouseville, Pennsylvania, daughter of Leroy and Nevada Feeley Toy. She married John R. Stevenson there on June 5, 1942. Jane was employed at Iowa National Mutual Insurance Company in the claims department for 18 years retiring in 1983. She was a member of the Elmcrest Country Club and Elks Club. She enjoyed trips to the casino, shopping for shoes and was an avid reader. Jane was a real card player. She thoroughly enjoyed getting together with her Bridge Groups to play Bridge and Gin Rummy. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staffs of Ridgeview Assisted Living and the Mercy Hospice House.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, the National MS Society and the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
