I was a young man just out of the Navy in March of 1965 and I went to work at Collins Radio. I was assigned to the Machine Shop and John Williams was my supervisor. The first night I was put on a lathe to run a job I messed it up pretty bad and John told me that he shouldn't have given me such a tough one to start with because it was part of the "Apollo" project and it required really tight tolerances. I remember being worried that I would be in trouble but I needn't have because John was very understanding. I can remember that night just like it was yesterday although it was over 44 years ago. John was a very good man, he will be missed and you his family have my deepest sympathies.

Shelia and family, It has been my honor to have met John and become acquainted with him over the last few months. I greatly admire the courage, strength and even humor I witnessed from him, especially in his final days. It has truly been a blessing to have met him, and I pray for God's peace to surround you and keep you in this difficult time.

I played baskeball with John at the rec center for the past ten years. I enjoyed our weekly BB games together and will miss his 3pt shooting. My condolences to his family. Joe
