Otis S. Boyd

When I 1st started attending Gloria Dei Otis was the first member of the congregation I ever heard sing solo. He did the Kyrie and I will always remember that voice and those word, he always had a smile, a warm hello and a great handshake when I would see him at services. Gone but never forgotten!

My beloved uncle who I will always remember as a man of great humor and joy. He brought happiness to many and will be missed by all of us. He is now with our Lord in eternal happiness.

When my dad went blind, Otis stopped by to see him one day. Dad was home alone and Otis & he had a wonderful visit. Before he left, Otis offered to sing BEYOND THE SUNSET. When Dad told me of this, he cried and said he wanted Otis to sing this song at his funeral. Otis did just that (in addition to singing at my mom's). We were so blessed by his kindness and beautiful voice. May your family be comforted knowing that Otis is Home and singing for our wonderful God.

The finest neighbor for 31 years. He shared raspberries and cherries. Helped trim trees and bushes and even repaired my home. I will miss our over the fence chats. We were blessed to know him.

I was privileged to know Otis for the past 35 years. We sang together in the Norseman Quartet for over ten years. What a sweet first tenor. We also did several duets for church and Sons of Norway. What a wonderful man! We will miss him tremendously and forever give thanks that we were privileged to know him. Praise the Lord for Otis's life. Our best to his family.

My memories of Otis are from growing up with Deb, from junior high through high school and college. I'll remember him most for his welcoming smile and the twinkle in his eye. Deb, I see a lot of him in you ! My thought are with all of you.

I worked at Wilsons/Farmstead for many years with and for Otis. Otis would always listen and respond to our needs and wishes. Great guy and boss. We had great dinner parties in the Maintenance department. I always marveled at his tenacity to golf in the cold weather.

Our thoughts have been with you all ever since we heard the news. My family was also blessed by Uncle Buzz's gift of music. I was so touched when he sang the "Our Father" at Grandma & Grandpa (Robert) Boyd's funeral, and it was very moving to have him sing it again at my wedding years later. Blessings to you all.

I have enjoyed playing golf with Otis for better than 20 years as well as working with him at Wilsons/Farmstead. He was a person that will live in many peoples memories for ever...I feel so blessed to have enjoyed all those experiences with him and I don't think anyone will get more out of their life than Otis did. My sympathy to Joyce and their great family. Forrest Mykleby
