John and family, I'm so sorry to hear about Jo. She was such a kind and gentle soul. I remember when she would call the office, she would always say "Is my friend there?" She never asked for "John" or "my husband," but always "my friend." I thought that was such a special way to refer to you John. I'm thinking of you all and send my love and prayers.

Dear John, Sue, Anita, John Jr. and Family, At last Jo is at peace. What a wonderful woman Jo was. We were so fortunate to have been neighbors and good friends with all the Carpenters. I would like to be at her service but am traveling to Chicago for our 17th grandchild's first communion. John - I'd like to have lunch with you in the near future. God bless you all. Dear Mr. Carpenter and Family, I'm so sorry to hear about Mrs. Carpenters death. She was truly one of the nicest people I ever met. You all were so good to that huge, loud Irish family that invaded your quiet neighborhood in 1967. Thank you all for being such great (tolerant) neighbors. We all can learn how life should be lived through Mrs. Carpenter. Take care of eachother.

Dear John, I was sorry to hear of your loss. I so enjoyed Jo's company over the years on the tennis courts at Westfield. Often she would bring me articles on education that she thought would be of interest to me. And of course she was right. The information was always of interest. She was a thoughtful and interesting friend with a real interest in young people and education. I know everyone who knew her will miss her.
