I will never forget Grace... she oriented me to postpartume nursing almost 9 years ago at ST. Lukes Hospital. She was one of the most kind, giving and compassionate nurses I had ever worked with. She went the extra mile for all her patients, and she couldn't leave the end of her shift without making sure each one was "fluffed and buffed" so us nurses call it. She took exceptional care of her patients and loved all those babies. She was an amazing friend to so many. We will miss you Grace! My thoughts and prayers are with Grace's family during this difficult time.

I had the honor to work with Grace at the Birth Care Center. I have been a volunteer there since 2002. From my first day, I learned to count on Grace for advice about the care of newborns. Then our granddaughter was in her care, and I saw her wonderful teaching ability with new nervous moms. She was an exceptional nurse. God put her in the right place as she helped many new souls enter this world and many parents learn to cope with their fears. But it was her courage in these last months that will stay with me forever. Her strong faith, her positive attitude, and her wonderful spirit were an inspiration to all who knew her. If I should ever face the challenges that she did, I will try to remember how she walked that difficult road. I lit a luminary for her at the Relay for Life last year, and I will light one again this year in her memory. She will always live in our hearts. My sympathy to the entire family.
