Alice Lambertsen, 92, of Crestview Acres Nursing Home, died there Monday, April 20, 2009, after a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dr. Kay Slocum. Interment: Dunkard Cemetery, Midway. A visitation will be held after 9 a.m. Friday at the church.

Alice is survived by three children, Ruth (Darrell) Miskimen of Phoenix, AZ, Mary (Walt) Gorbatjuk, and Robert Lambertsen, all of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Hazel Comley of Central City; and a brother, Glenn McCreary of Pender, NE. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a son, John; three brothers; and two sisters.

Alice was born on February 7, 1917 in Montana to Guy and Maude McCreary. She married Robert Lambertsen on January 22, 1936 in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1977. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school. She was a former Campfire Leader.

Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church, St. Luke’s Hospice, and the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
