Nahla Rose Alloway, 1, of 1424 Bever Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, died April 5, 2009, at home after a sudden illness. Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, 4200 First Ave. NE, by Pastor Charles Brooks. Burial: Garden of Angels, Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A private family viewing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, April 17. Public visitation: one hour before services Saturday at the chapel.

Survivors include her mother, Karen Phelps; her stepfather, Aaron Metras; her birth father, Matthew Alloway; her grandparents, Marylan Annette and Floyd Taylor and Donald Phelps Sr., all of Cedar Rapids, and Scott Metras and Ben and Sandy Alloway, both of Rockford, Ill.; aunts, Jennifer and Keira Taylor of Cedar Rapids, Lela Farra of St. Marys, Ga., and Anna Phelps and Rebecca and Leela Alloway, all of Rockford, Ill.; uncles, Floyd Taylor Jr. and Donald Phelps Jr., both of Cedar Rapids, and Daniel and Josiah Alloway and Reginald Foreman, all of Rockford, Ill.; and a great many other relatives and friends.

Nahla made her appearance into this world on April 1, 2008, and fooled us all. She brought joy and happiness to everyone who knew her. She could brighten a room with just a look or get a laugh with a quick smile.

We will miss you dearly little angel. Go play with those angel wings.
