Memorial

Edward L. Wisgerhof, 79, of 2170 49th Street, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, in Linn Manor Care following a long illness. Services will be held at 11 AM Saturday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church will officiate. Inurnment in St. Paul’s Columbarium. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM on Saturday. Arrangements by Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife Dolores, three sons Doug (Cathy) and children Laura (Adam) Humes, Scott (Alexa) Wisgerhof and daughter Simone; Gordon (Diane) son Matt, daughter Sara (Eric) Throener and daughter Caroline, 2 step-sons Chris (Steff) Jeffrey and children Dylan and Sam, and Mike (Wendy) Dawson and children Emma, Jack, and Christian: Martin (Nancy) and daughter Maria Wisgerhof; 2 sisters Dorthy Billman of State Center, Iowa, and Jean (Bob) Malecek of Justin, Texas, two sisters in law Joyce Wisgerhof of Urbandale, and Bernice Price of Marshalltown, He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Jerry, two granddaughters Kimberly and Nicole, and a great grandson Ames.

Edward was born December 9, 1929 in Jasper County, Iowa to Tunis and Edna Miller Wisgerhof. He married Dolores Johnson on November 21, 1948 in Laurel, Iowa. He was an accountant for Nash Finch for 38 years, and a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling, antiquing, sports, an avid Cubs fan, and spending time with his family.

His family wishes to thank the staff at Linn Manor Care for their personal care and spiritual guidance given to Ed, and also to St. Paul’s congregation for their prayers and concern.
