Johnnie Mae Dixon, 99, of 1501 B Ave NE, died Sunday, April 12, 2009, at her home following a short illness. Services will be held at 1 PM Thursday at Word Of Faith Pentecostal Church Of God In Christ. Rev. Wendell Beets will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, and at the church after noon on Thursday.

Survivors include five daughters, Cora (Al) Cooks, Bobbie Mims, Johnnie (Jack) Ray, Ella (Eugene) Murphy, and Stella (Edward) Martin all of Cedar Rapids, 34 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 23 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob, son Luther, five sisters, and four brothers.

Johnnie was born August 15, 1909 in Louise, Mississippi, to Johnny and Prudence Batup Brown. She was married to Bob Dixon who died in 1947. She was a homemaker and member of Word Of Faith Pentecostal Church Of God In Christ. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, fishing, singing, and spending time with her family.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
