Mildred R. O'Brine, 90, of 2255 Edwin Dr. Marion died Sunday April 12, 2009 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a short illness. Memorial services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Grace Episcopal Church where friends may call from 10:00 AM until service time. Mildred’s body was donated to the University of Iowa for medical research. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, Robert “Larry” (Val) of Cedar Rapids, and James (Anthony) of Marion and a daughter, Rebecca (Walter) Cheney of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Jeremy (Terri), John (Denise Pinchotti), Kerry, Heidi (Scott), Lacie (Shaun), Lindsey, Daniel, and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother.
Mildred was born on Feb. 6, 1919 in Sheridan, Wyoming, the daughter of Walter and Anna Fait Roe. She married Robert L. O’Brine on Nov. 14, 1942 in Kahoka, Missouri. He died in 1980. Mildred was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, New Encounters, Shrine Auxiliary, St. Ann’s Guild and Mercy Fitness.
Memorial donations may be given to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy or Grace Episcopal Church in Mildred’s name.
