To Cookie's Family: You will not recognize our names, but we have known Cookie since Dec. 31,1962. That was the day our son Peter was born and we shared a room at St. Luke's Hospital with Cookie and I believe Sheila. Cookie and I became friends and although we did not see each other often, we always shared memories of our days in the hospital. Peter died at the age of 6 years and 8 months of leukemia. Cookie never forgot him when we would see each other. She was a very thoughtful person and I could not have asked for a better roommate. I want to send our sincere condolences to your family. I know she will be missed in several circles and I will miss seeing her from time to time at our chance meetings. May God hold you close and may your good memories comfort you in the days to come. Sincerely, Joyce Hutchins

From eleven years old we were best 'buds'. The tears only clarify the happy times we had together growing up in Chesterfield County, Va. together. We rode bikes, skated, and then 'cruised' together, laughing our way through good and bad times. And then that wonderful guy, Bob, came along. The last time Bob and Cookie visited us, we put on fifties music and 'shagged' in the living room. I miss her smile, her voice, her love of life. But she's just moved on and will wait on us. Don and I send our love to Bob and family as well as our thanks to them for sharing their wife and mother with us all these years. Sandy and Don Hatfield Oolitic, Indiana

Dear Don and Family, Don I only met you at our class reunions, but it was obvious that the Lord had you planned for Cookie. Her happy joyful personality was reflected in you. When I think of Cookie, I think of "Mr. Peanut", that was one of her jobs during high school. You were always happy when you were around Cookie because she was always laughing and smiling. Oh that all could have her outlook on life. We have been separated by miles for many years, but when we were together, it was as if we were teens, still in high school. She will be greatly missed.

To Cookies family, Cookie was a delightful lady. She was very dear to me and I am praying that the Lord will comfort you. I know that Cookie was a woman who had great faith and she brought joy into the lives of her friends. I remember how patient she was in teaching me how to do binding so the corners looked nice! She always made people feel cherished. I have a purple wall hanging in my sewing room that Cookie made especially for me when she was my "secret sister" at a quilting retreat. I was blessed to know her and count her as my friend. Melanie Hermanson

Dear Bob, Jackie and Shiela, What wonderful memories we share of the Oakland Rd Days. I saw Cookie at the beginning of the day when she dropped you girls off and at the end. Always she was smiling and uplifting. We loved chit chatting over our chance meetings at garage sales and Younkers. I will miss her so much as I know you will too. Dearest Bob, Sheila, & Jackie, Words cannot express how sad we are to hear about Cookie. Our hearts break for you all. We all loved Cookie-- to know her was to love her. She was the life of every party. She had this wonderful gift that made everyone laugh & smile. Her smile was contagious!:>) She was a joy & pleasure to be around. As you know, I have known & loved Cookie ever since the 8th. grade, (54 years). Even tho' we were separated by miles, we still maintained our strong friendship. Even when we lived in FL., Cookie & Bob would come to see us each year. I know with the Lord's help, you all fought cancer since 1981, but Cookie never complained. Cookie was a fine example of Christian woman. I'm sure her rewards will be many in Heaven. We shall recognize her by the many stars in her crown. My entire family loved and appreciated Cookie so much. She will be sorely missed by all. Precious Sheila & Jackie, We can sincerely sympathize with you, as it wasn't too long ago that my dear Mom went home to be with the Lord. It is a deep, unexplainable pain, but thank the Lord, with lots of prayer & time, it does get better. You all are and will continue to be in all of our prayers. Please, let us know if there is anything we can do to help you all in any way. We are here for you. We thank the Lord that we had the opportunity to know Cookie and are even more blessed to have had her all of these years as our friend. We thank & praise the Lord, that Cookie was a child of the King and is in Heaven having a wonderful time. We also thank the Lord for that eternal gift and promise that belivers will live forever in Heaven with HIM. "We shall be known as we are known." We shall see & be with Cookie again. Until then, we will cherish all of our fond memories. May the Lord bless & keep you all in HIS care and grant you HIS peace & comfort. To Cookie's Family: I went through Thomas Dale with Cookie. What a joy to know. Oh, those dimples. I always wanted dimples. When she laughed, her whole face would light up. Bob,Jackie & Sheila, We want to express our deepest sympthy at Cookie's passing. I felt like someone had kicked me in the stomach when Phyllis called to tell us. Cookie and I were like sisters. Our families were the most important people to us, but the Lord was and is first place in our life. I considered it a previlige to call her my friend. Bob, you were a wonderful husband to her and it makes me love you that much more. Jackie and Sheila, you were the apple of Cookie's eye. She spoke sooo often about the wonderful accomplishments you all were doing. Cookie told me about two months before Jackie's transplant that she wanted to live long enough to see Jackie get a new kidney so she could help take care of her the way Jackie helped take care of her when she got her kidney. Later on Cookie said she wanted to live long enough to see Jackie marry the man that loved her so much and helped to take care of her. She got her two wishes. Cookie could never think of enough good words to describe what a wonderful man Bob is and what a great NURSE he was. Sheila, she spoke so often of how you were always there to get her out and just have a Mom Day. She appreciated and loved you so much for those days. I will alway love you guys. Bob, Jackie and Shelia Our sincere sympathy to you. Cookie and I have been best friends since elementary school (Bellwood School) Cookie would walk to my home and spend the night and then I would go to her house the next night. We were the best of friends for so many years. I have so many wonderful memories of our childhood that I could not possibly put them in words. My family loved Cookie and Donald and Linda as if they were a part of our family. Cookie's Mom probably thought that I was a part of her family because I was there most of the time. When I would go to Cookies house she would cook a big old iron frying pan full of fried potatoes and we would all four eat until we couldn't eat any more. Cookie's Mom worked most of the time and Cookie was like a mother to Donald and Linda. I could go on for ever about the wonderful person that Cookie was. Every time that I talked to Cookie she would ask about my daughter Teresa. Cookie always said that Teresa was the most courageous person in the world and I would tell her that the only person more courageous than Teresa was Cookie. I loved her dearly and will sorely miss her. Bob, anytime you would like to come to Chester and talk about your wonderful wife, you are always welcome. Walter and I loved you both.

My mom, MaryLou Ellis and I wish to express our sadness with the loss of Cookie. She ALWAYS had a nice smile and positive attitude when we used to run into her at "sales". (We don't go "saleing" as it is difficult for my mom to get around since her strokes.) Yesterday I was working at moving out of our former church, Kenwood Park Presbyterian and a lady from New Covenant said she knew your mom and what a wonderful woman your mom was. She reminded me that your mom is now at peace. Rest assured that you will be reunited with your wonderful mom again, Forever, in Eternity!

Dear Bob and family, We were so surprised to read that Cookie went on to Heaven. We have wonderful memories that we will always cherish. Many years ago, when we were all together at Ellis Park Chuch of God, Cookie made a beautiful spring coat and dress for our daughter, Mary. for Easter. We took lots of pictures. Years passed and we haven't seen each other very often but we always enjoyed brief visits when we would happen to meet. May God be especially near during this difficult time, giving you comfort and strength. With our sincere sympathy, love and prayers, Sharyl and Ken

Dear Bob and family, My sincerest sympathy to all of you during this sad time. I was fortunate to know Pat while working with Defense Contracts in Cedar Rapids during the late 1970's and early 1980's. She was a joy to know and fun to be around! I loved her "southern" drawl and will think of her always on August 11th, as we shared the same birthday. Also, Donna Weber and I enjoyed her quilt entry at the National Quilt Show in Paducah, KY a few years ago. My prayers and thoughts are with you. God Bless.
