Laura Dorothy Schultz, of Cedar Rapids, died March 28, 2009 at Silver Pines Assisted Living Facilities, Cedar Rapids, IA. Services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, March 30, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids by Rev. Jonathan Offt. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Trinity. Burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran cemetery, rural Victor.

She leaves many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers, and 4 sisters.

She was born August 11, 1907 to Charles and Mary Timm Schultz, rural Guernsey, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Victor. Laura graduated from Guernsey High School in 1925. She enjoyed basketball, track, and recess. Laura attended Winona Business College in Winona, Minnesota. She retired from Vigortone Feeds after 35 years. Her mother came to Cedar Rapids to live with Laura in 1943. Laura was very active at Trinity Lutheran Church and sewing for Lutheran World Relief, producing more than 400 quilts. Laura and her sister Marie did extensive traveling all over the world.
