Margaret Ann (Stolba) Phillips, 88, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, March 16, 2009, in Mesa, following a long illness. Services will be held at 11 AM Monday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 PM Sunday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home and at the chapel after 10:30 AM on Monday.

Survivors include her children, William L. (Judy) Phillips Jr. of Mesa, Arizona, and Cynthia Miller of St. Mary’s, Ohio, siblings, Leo (Carol) Stolba of Marion, Leonard (Carllene) Stolba of Buena Vista, Colorado, Leona (Anthony) Pusateri of Cedar Rapids, Louis (Geraldine) Stolba of Robins, and Robert (Marcella) Stolba of Cedar Rapids, grandchildren, Diana (Marlowe) Buller, Gary Phillips, Jaime Looney, Lori (Mark) Vislisel, Tina (Wayne) Stephens, Gwen (John) Kottmann, Tracy (LeRoy) Ditton, Christi Phillips, Jeff (Tiffany) Phillips, Bruce Phillips, Carrie Phillips, Jason (Amber) Miller, Peyton (Jay) Walter, and Evan (Dr. Malathy Ramachandran) Miller, 24 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two children Shirley and Bruce Phillips, and five siblings Josephine Barcus, Emil Stolba, Milo Stolba, Adolph Stolba, and Mary Ann Stolba.

Margaret was born June 7, 1920, in Cedar Rapids to Edward and Anna Dvorak Stolba. She married William Phillips Sr. on October 8, 1938 in Iowa City. He died October 3, 1966. She was a production worker for Acme Graphics Inc. for 42 years. She enjoyed taking trips, riding hot air balloons, fishing, and her ATV rides with her grandson. She was a member of the Grand Temple Pythian Sisters.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
