Memorial

Christina May Baskerville, 93, of Center Point, died Sunday March 15, 2009, in St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Graveside services and entombment will be held at 10 AM Wednesday in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Rev. Norman Kelly of the Walker United Methodist Church will officiate. Visitation will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday.

Survivors include five children, Kay Kubik and husband Stanley of Walker, Iowa, Harlan Baskerville and wife Phyllis of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Carol Carson and husband Dick of Nevada City, California, Ellen Paone and husband Al of Phoenix, Arizona, and Rick Baskerville and wife Kay of Palo, Iowa, a brother Charles Ellis of Fairfax, Iowa, sixteen grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jean Jellings, four brothers Joe, Doyle, Oliver, and Herald Ellis, and a grand son Danny.

Christina was born September 12, 1915 in Macon County, Missouri to Andrew and Lola Knox Ellis. She had been employed at Sears. She was a member of Noelridge Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids, and volunteered at Aid To Women. She loved the Lord and reflected that with her family and friends. She was known as a very energetic lady and her sense of humor was enjoyed by all.
