Nancy Lorraine (Reed) Dowd, 75, of Keystone Heights, Florida, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, in her home following a long illness. Services will be held at 10 AM Tuesday in Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Rev. Rick Gail of First Assembly of God Church will officiate. Burial in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Monday and at the chapel after 9:30 AM on Tuesday.

Survivors include a son Edward Reed of Alburnett, four daughters, Sheila (Jeff) Grosvenor of Palm Bay, Florida, Margaret Reed of Cedar Rapids, Mary (Kevin) Struve of Vinton, and Michele (John) Leverone of Ash Fork, Arizona, a brother Chester (Shirley) Sheetz of Cedar Rapids, a sister Mildred Tristani of Keystone Heights, Florida, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Chester and Emma Ploeger Sheetz, first husband Kenneth L. Reed, 2nd husband Raymond Dowd, two sons Keith and Kevin Reed, two brothers Merton and Donald Sheetz, four sisters Ora Mae Cozart, Grace Hartson, Helen Rouse and Margaret Sheetz, and a granddaughter Nikki Leverone.

Nancy was born May 7, 1933 in Decorah, Iowa. She married Kenneth L. Reed on August 3, 1951 in Cedar Rapids. He died June 24, 1982. She married Raymond H. Dowd on June 11, 1995 in Denver, Colorado. He died December 28, 2001. She was a professional seamstress working at Jean’s Fashion and Von Maur in Lindale Mall. She was a member of the Lake Area Bible Church in Melrose, Florida. She enjoyed doll collecting, fishing, good movies, camping, and reading books.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
