Jeffrey A. Seber. 52, of Marion died Saturday February 14, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center after a two year battle with cancer. Funeral Mass: 11:00 AM on Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. Rev. John Gossman will officiate. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 PM on Monday where there will be a vigil service at 7:00 PM and at the Church after 10:00 AM on Tuesday.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy, a daughter RanDee (Tom) Hupp of Cedar Rapids, two sons, Robert and his fiancé Lisa of Waterloo and Ryan (Jennifer) of Normal, Illinois, his mother Elaine, two brothers, Mark and Chris (Michelle) all of Cedar Rapids, three sisters, Jan (Matt) Dostal, Ann (Rob) Allee and Mary Smith all of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Madison and Carter Seber, numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs, Sammy and PeeWee. He was preceded in death by his father.

Jeff was born on Aug. 19, 1956 in Cedar Rapids, the son of John and Elaine Petrusch Seber. He graduated in1974 from Jefferson High School where he lettered in cross country and was a member of the Nation Honor Society. Jeff married Tamera S. Sobolik on Aug. 12, 1994 in Marion. He was the I.T. Manager at Sealed Air Cryovac for 33 years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Jeff loved traveling and spending time with family and friends. He always put others before himself. Jeff loved to golf and finally got his own “Hawkeye” golf cart autographed by Kirk Ferentz and Norm Parker. He was an avid Kurt Warner fan and loved to follow his career. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Mercy Hospice in Jeff’s name.
