Larry E. Prull, 61, of 9213 Lawrence Dr East SW died Tuesday Feb. 10, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center of cancer. Services at 1:00 PM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where there will also be military rites. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy, a daughter, Penny Prull of North Liberty, a son, Brian(Cynthia) of California, two brothers, Robert(Bonnie) of Anamosa, Ralph (Katie) of Visalia, California, and two sisters, Maryjo Nagel of Laguna Beach, California and Lorna (Ray) Ellis of Manchester. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Tia and Tamara Watson, two great grandchildren, Talan and Tristan Watson, several nieces and nephews and his best friend and dog, Jake. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Betty.

Larry was born on Jan. 24, 1948 in Anamosa, the son of William and Ida Ketelsen Prull. He married Sandy M. Collins on March 9, 1968 in Mt. Vernon. Larry was a heavy equipment mechanic for Gee Grading and Excavation for 32 years, retiring in 2006. He was a member of IBEW local 234 and proudly served in the Army in Vietnam. He enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, watering Sandy’s flowers and time spent with his neighbors and family. Memorial donation may be given to the American Cancer Society in Larry's name. Military rites by American Legion Hanford post No. 5.
