Tyler Nathan Toll

I only had the opportunity to be around Tyler a few times, and I am honored to have had the priviledge to have met him and seen his passion and fire for life. His happiness and joy was contagious! I am truly, deeply sorry for your loss.

Tyler was an awesome young man. As a volunteer teacher and mom at CVCS - Tyler and I often exchanged smiles. He was often the first to order spirit shirts and I remember a couple times his enthusiasm to travel with our sports teams to cheer them on. I don't ever remember a time when he wasn't smiling and I just knew he loved life. To his parents - you did a wonderful job of parenting him. With love and prayers, Stephanie Hodge

Dear Wendy, Devin, Chelsea, Sally and Bill- I was shocked and sad to read of Tyler's death. I could not hold back the tears when I saw his picture in the paper! You may recall Tyler spent much time during his summers at the Drake Salad Bar talking with my friend Jim Peters and I over lunch after you moved to the APAC building. I really loved him and will miss him. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. Bill Stone

I knew Tyler as a caddie for the Greater Cedar Rapids Open since 2004. He was vey polite, very helpful and very eager, even though at first he was really lighter than some of the golf bags. Our Caddie Master for many years was Don Grooms and he was very fond of Tyler. I'm sure they will meet again in heaven. God Bless you.

Dear Family, I hope to raise my son in in the same great spirt and love you obviously did with Tyler. With all of Tyler's involvement, he made the world a better place, for sure. I'm sorry to say I never met Tyler or any of you, but your son's spirt has touched me. Despite him no longer being here on Earth, he's still making a difference! I wanted you to know, he is still reaching out to others. May you find comfort and understanding thru God's Love.

Everyone who knew Tyler will understand what we mean when we say that a room may never be quite as bright. His smile had an infectious quality, one that I was always glad to see. After I graduated from CV, I saw less of Tyler, but whenever I was there, I seemed to run into him and his smile. We know that this time isn't easy, and we grieve Tyler's absence with you, yet we rejoice with you that Tyler is in heaven with his Lord. May that same Lord who dances with Tyler give you His peace that passes understanding and the strength to serve Him. Tyler will be greatly missed. I'm thankful to have known him.

My Dearest Kim and Family, I just got off the phone with you and I know words alone can't express my deepest most sincere heartfelt sympathy. I did not know your nephew, but when I saw this terrible tragedy on the news, I felt like my own heart was ripped out of my chest as I thought of my own son Zachary who will be 18 in March....and I prayed so hard for Tyler's family, not even knowing there was a connection. My prayers and thoughts and hopes are with you and your family that you have the strength, courage and wisdom to pull together and be supportive of eachother thru this terrible time. May God Bless all of you and keep you in his arms as long as you may need Him. Love, Diane

My heart goes out to you and your family during this extremely painful time. I had a flashback to conversations we've had about how blessed we are with our children and how fast they grow up. I may have never met Tyler, but I know the caliber of his mom...he had to have been one incredible young man! Words don't even come close to expressing how much my heart aches for you, your husband, and your children right now. Although I find peace in knowing that Tyler knew Jesus Christ as his Saviour and Lord, and in that, there is solace that he is in the presence of his Father in Heaven. I pray you can cling to that as well. Nothing can relieve the pain and emptiness you are going to feel for quite some time; however, I pray that you will find comfort and peace from your family, your church family, all of us at Berthel Fisher that love you dearly, and most of all, God's word that brings comfort to the hurting, peace to those in strife, and joy to those down-hearted. I love you! Scott and I are praying for you and your entire family by name, and I wish I could have been there to wrap my arms around you to help hold you up during this devastating time. The video was beautiful and my tears are still streaming. In His Grip, Misty

Toll Family, We were so sorry to hear of Tyler's passing. We lost our 18-month-old son, Linus, a year ago. He is buried in the Garden of Angels at Cedar Memorial. Even though our two sons died at very different ages, the feelings of loss are the same. We have found a lot of comfort in attending support groups. The one that would best fit your family would be Compassionate Friends in Dubuque because most of the parents lost teenage to adult children. Please know that our thoughts are with you through this long and difficult journey.

To the Toll family, I never met any of you , but my heart goes out to your family. I had just put my son and another little girl on the bus that terrible morning. I sat with other children watching ... and waiting. Nothing I can say can bring back you son, but the memories, ( good and bad) will help ease the pain you will feel for a long time to come. We lost friends in a motor cycle accident a year and a half ago. Still hard when certain things make us remember. God just has the master plan book and we have to go by it. It is hard to always try and remember today may be your last day before you go home to God. Our prayers are with your family.Sncerely, Cathy Faulkner
