Pat & Family, My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. May you find comfort in your treasured memories. I worked with Jim at A'Hearn and enjoyed his sense of humor. May he rest in peace.

I have many great memories of Jim and our lunches together after I left A'Hearns. We had fun picking on my mom about our "dates". Steve enjoyed his motorcycle rides with Jim. He always spoke lovingly about Pat and his family. He will be missed.

Pat and family, My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I road motorcycles with Jim for many years we had some really memorable rides. One I took with Jim, Don Lucky and Jeff Hartzler was really special. I was invited to ride down to Arkansas with them for their annual ride. I will always remember that trip. As a Life Member of the Harley Owners Group and Member of the Metro Chapter of H.O.G. we always enjoyed having Jim stop at the store on Saturday mornings for coffee and chat. I will charish those rides forever. God Bless, Don Norton

I first met Jim when I started working at A'hearn Plumbing. At first I was very intimidated by him, but soon found out he was a big softy! (Not that he would admit it!) I loved to hear him laugh, and enjoyed working with him. My condolences to his family. Amy (Oltman) Blomquist Cedar Rapids

Dear Pat & Family, My deepest sympathy on the loss of Jim. I worked with him at Modern Piping, Five Season Mechanical and for him at A'Hearns. We always had a good relationship and worked hard for the contractors. I enjoyed viewing the video, didn't know him when he was thin. Bless your families. Sincerely, Mark Reinhart

Patsy, I feel so privileged to have known you and Jim for all the years you came to our office. I looked forward to your visits and our talks and I feel like we got to know each other as friends. I do truly miss him and his smile. Both of you had such pleasant but fighter attitudes right from the start, I knew that you would both steal my heart. Due to work and baby I couldn't make it to the services, know that I am praying for you. I already told little Holly she missed knowing a great man with a good heart. Take care, my prayers are with you. Marci, RN at Iowa Blood and Cancer Care

Parallels You lean over a bed railing to kiss me hello, I lean over a bed railing to kiss you good-bye. You marvel at the frailty of new life, I wonder at how fragile you've become. You lift me up in protective arms, astounded with love, I hold you gently, hoping to protect you, dazed by fear. You whisper to never fear, you'll always take care of me, I whisper to not be afraid; He'll take care of you now. I close my eyes to slumber in innocence, You close your eyes to slumber in contentment. A life given, A full life lived. Thanks for being my Daddy. Karen

I know we are all feeling a little bit sad, that we have lost our Grandpa, Husband, and Dad. Together we have cried an ocean of tears, as we feel so empty and hold so many fears. But Grandpa would want us to know he is in a better place, And that he is watching us all with a smile on his face. As we have made him so proud, as proud as can be, that he has raised such a beautiful and special family. Thinking back now I really must say, I feel lucky and privileged to have known Grandpa to this day. For in my life you have played a special part, the memories I will treasure and keep close to my heart. For each one of us he has loved and cared, and as a family we are thankful for the times we have shared. Although he is gone we will always be together, and his spirit will live on in each one of us forever. When you look to the sky look for the brightest star, because that is Grandpa watching over us from afar. Now I would like to ask God if it is not too much of a fuss. To watch over Grandpa he is very dear to us. Grandpa if you are listening say a pray for us each day, To help us and guide us every step of the way. Even though we will miss you more then you know, we know when God called you just had to go. Grandpa We Love You JOEY
