jerry and boys: i went to grade school and high school with Charleen. We were best of friends, and after she married and moved to Cedar Rapids, we did talk on the phone, but we were not able to get her to come to our Class Reunions in Hampton. We all missed her and did talk about how we wished she would come. I was very sad when one of our classmates forwarded the information to me today. My heart and thoughts are with the family. I would love to know more about her. I will be thinking of you.

I work for the fine jewelry counter at Younkers. I started there almost 5 years ago. Char has been a good and trusted friend since my first week. She bought her coin necklace from me, and I helped her pick out her Seiko watch. Rain, shine, or snow, just like the postal service, Char was there no matter what. She was so easy to talk to and so full of wisdom, I could tell her anything and know she'd never steer me wrong. She helped influence me to go back to school! One of the last times I saw her, almost two-weeks ago now, she asked me how school was going. When I told her things were going really well, she said she was proud of me. To The Mauren Family, I was saddened today to hear from my mother of your family's loss. I have fond memories of "Max's Mom" from growing up and going to school with Max. My parents live down the street (25th) and growing up I remember waving to Max or his family when we would walk or ride bikes by the house. It seemed as though Charleen was always outside working in the yard or taking walks, too. I remember waiting at Hy-Vee while my mom had happy conversations with Charleen, sharing with each other news about their family's heres and theres. Max was always a good friend to me growing up and my heart goes out to him and his family during these sad times. My prayers and thoughts will be you. Take care.
